Thursday 27th May - walk **** - Waldringfield circuit – sunny periods and milder.

After a mega run of 5 windsurfing sessions in 6 days it is nice to have some light wind days and getting milder too, hopefully reaching 20 degrees soon! Sadly, it was pretty cloudy again here on the coast with only brief sightings of the sun:( still managed to do my exercises in the back garden while Mag did some re-potting taking it easy as her back is also playing up at the moment, what a couple of crocks we are! I then made a sandwich and we drove over to Waldringfield for a walk, parking free near the church on the outskirts of the village. A quick trip round the church, the big blossom tree has finished but the graveyard is still full of lovely blue akinet. Then down past the swanky new house with fields of potatoes now showing and the big impressive dead tree coming out in the sailing club car park before turning right past the back of the huts and out onto the old sea wall with the tide very high. It is beautiful out here surrounded by water, the Deben on one side and creeks the other with loads of noisy oyster catchers. We soon run out of path due to erosion so stop for our sandwich while watching a few boats on the river. Then with the tide now dropping we walked back to Waldringfield, past the busy Maybush and up to the plant cottage but Mag has no luck so we take the footpath opposite back to the van and home for our usual cuppa and cake being held up a while by a broken down lorry on Felixstowe dock round about!
